Z12CN18-10 Air 9160C wrought steels used in aeronautical constructions
Stainless, non-magnetic spring steel with high carbon content with good ductility delivered in the form of cold rolled tapes, sheets, drawn wires and drawn bars.Designed for springs, spring washers, ropes, flexible connectors, fasteners, aerial parts and other components used in the chemical and food industries such as pump parts, acid tanks, or high temperature springs.1.4310 grade exhibits resistance to amorphous corrosion, but in delivered condition and in the sensitized state it is not resistant to intergranular corrosion. The steel is delivered in a soft and strengthened by cold work condition, exhibiting the following mechanical properties according to user requirements as described. Supersaturation of X10CrNi18-10 grade products is carried out at 1000-1100 ℃. Forging and rolling processes require a temperature of 1200 - 900 ℃.For Austenitic steel 1H18N9, it is similar to X10CrNi18-10 with a slightly narrower carbon range - max 0.12%, thus showing slightly better mechanical properties than 0H18N9 steel according to PN. It is characterized by good durability, compactness, relatively low plasticity, tendency to cold-work hardening, and adequate polishing ability while maintaining resistance to compounds and substances of 0H18N9 steel.Steel is resistant to intercrystalline corrosion if no welding, hot bending, or strengthening by cold work was performed on the product. It also exhibits resistance to compounds contained in fertilizers, nitric acid, aggressive preservatives and various salts. It is not resistant to non-oxidant environments, pitting and contact corrosion (halides), stress corrosion in contact with chlorides and hydroxides. It is used in the food, fruit and vegetable and chemical industries in nitrogen plants for valves, parts of fittings and pumps, the coal industry and the petrochemical industry. Other applications include distillation boilers, agitators, acid tanks, heat exchangers, absorption towers, and pipelines. It shows very good weldability, where no early heating of the product is required. However, after the joining of the components, it is advisable to carry out the supersaturation process to protect the product against intercrystalline corrosion.
